JMT Wood Carpentry was established by Jody Wood in 2006 whilst working for house builders Bellway Homes in central Exeter. Having previously started an apprenticeship (City & Guilds) within a smaller building company in 2004 Jody felt he had to venture onwards and upwards and sought work in a larger organisation.

After spending 2 years working in central Exeter he was offered the opportunity to develop his trade in the booming town of Swindon where he worked on two large developments for Bellways.

When the house building trade started to slow down Jody took the initiative to seek smaller scale work in Swindon for a local dedicated Carpentry outfit in which he gained valuable skills in kitchen fitting, decking and renovation work to name a few. By this time things had really slowed down as the economy had gone well into a recession. He therefore decided to return to his roots in Devon.

Now back in Exeter Jody is running his own business and has been carrying out a variety of work from fitting doors to constructing 17 Timber Stables for Horse enthusiast Roy at Pencarder Sports, Rockbeare.
